This week is national spring cleaning week, so to get you off to a good start I’ve written a 3 part, easy to follow guide. This series will help you to both get your home in good order and get the most from it for a happy lifestyle.
So let’s crack on shall we?
The first step is to actually get away from your home and go and sit in a cafe, park or somewhere you like to visit. Next write down the answers to the following questions:
- What do I desire from my home?
- How do I want my home to make me feel?
- What is the most important part of my home and why?
After answering these questions away from your home environment, you may find you’ll come up with more honest answers about what you want. The way in which you think about your home has a big impact. For example you may have doubts that you could ever have a beautiful home, or that you don’t have enough money to make it happen. These assumptions are wrong and you need to be focussing on what you dream of having. Go wild with your imagination.
Head home and walk around your home, tune into how your home makes you feel right now and compare it to how you’d like to feel. Think about how each room makes you feel – do you dread the mess in the kitchen cupboards?
If it helps, continue writing down your findings. It will be interesting to look back and compare how your home made you feel before.
