Having reported at the Ideal Home Show in March, I was asked by house to home what the main trends were during the show. I found that there was a great deal of focus around wall papers. You can see my advice about wallpaper on the House to Home website. John Lewis have an excellent range of new wallpapers which I would advise you use either as a subtle background to strong furniture or as a bold statement as a backdrop for more neutral objects. Wallpaper is almost becoming an art form now, with designers using graphic prints almost like murals to cover entire walls. Don’t be afraid to experiment with
your home, see it as your blank canvas and a reflection of your personality.
Below are a selection of some of my favourite wall papers ranging from botanics to graphics.
Forest feel – realistic looking wood paneling, would work well in a studio space
Botanical – reminds me of Kew Gardens
Pink grasses – calming and soft, could work well in the bathroom
Cows sketches – I love the freedom of this sketch and also the way it all joins up to create a mural effect.
great for the office
Magnolia – this would look sweet in a bedroom on a feature wall behind the bed.
A strong sumptuous colour, great for adding passion to the bedroom without over powering.
